12 Linen Pants That Will Make You Ditch Your Jeans (2024)

For those of us who don't wear shorts and summer dresses, it's rough out here but linen pants are the unsung hero of the summer wardrobe – and we're here to help you find the best linen pants for your wardrobe.

If you are also not pro shorts and summer dresses, you'll know finding the right summer clothes is a constant battle between beating the one-two punch of sweat and humidity and wearing clothes you actually enjoy. As someone who has grown up dressing pretty modestly because of my religion, I always struggled to find summer clothes that felt me. And as I've grown up and sorted through my gender presentation preferences, I've decided I don't really like dresses all that much (although Christopher John Rogers' Target collection has me questioning that!)

Pants that don't feel horrible in the summer have been a mission for me and based on the comments of a TikTok I made talking about linen pants and why they're my go-to, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

Linen pants are so breathable and airy. There are also so many styles and they're available at so many price points that you don't have to skimp on quality. They can be cropped, flared, flowy, structured… you name it. You can get them in a boxier pant like my faves at Aritzia or in a flowy one-piece from Free People that can be layered up for hot summer days or cool summer nights. Anthropologie's WHIT TWO line carries a pretty size-diverse range, as does Athleta by GAP, both of them going to size 26. Both retailers also have a pretty expansive selection of styles, colors, and prints in their plus-size lines.

Linen and linen-blend fabrics are very versatile, so you don't have to resort to sweatpants or unstructured bottoms. (They're even Emma Chamberlain-approved — just peek at her recent What I'm Wearing This Summer video.)

So far, it's all pros but there are also some cons. Linen does crease easily, but it's my personal belief that that's just part of the charm of wearing a breezy, effortless fabric. As stylish as a good pant is, it's even cooler not to be worrying over the fabric of your clothes doing what they do. But if you do need a steamer or wrinkle guard, it doesn't hurt to have one at hand. (And you can use them for pretty much any fabric all year round!)
