I will never forget the day I reached out to Capella. I walked into the house from a very long 12 hours on night shift in acute care (travel nursing). I was so tired, almost to the point of exhaustion. I sat on the couch to untie my shoes as I turned on the TV. The last thing I remember thinking was ‘God, there has got to be a better way’. When I opened my eyes, I was still on the couch in full uniform (shoes and all!), and a Capella University commercial on TV. I’d seen the commercial before (you know how you see it and don’t see it). This time it was different. I went online, read some information, (what the heck is a FlexPath, I asked myself), completed the application, and five months after the first day of classes, I was ready for the capstone! (So this is what a FlexPath is!)😂❤️ I received my MSN in Care Coordination and will begin the DNP pursuit in 4 days using the FlexPath option. By the way, this was in 2020, and I have not worked med-surg since. Capella University showed me that I have what it takes to be an advocate for patients outside of an acute care setting and a success in other areas of nursing. For this, I will always be eternally grateful to Capella University!

I just made my first year at Capella. This will be my second online graduate degree. I find it to be better than the first. This degree is in CMHC. I am learning so much and I am able to apply what I am learning in real time since Mental Health Counseling is the actual field that I am working in. Capella is training and preparing me how to be a good MHC better than the actual job. The job in my opinion hired me with the title but did not give me concrete training on how to be a Mental Health Clinician and I really wanted to understand my role. Since becoming a learner at Capella I understand my role and love every bit of the journey to licensure. I am excited to continue my studies as I become more confident in my role at work.

Capella has been amazing for me! More psychology classes offered than my local brick and mortar university, the classes are more challenging, and more opportunity for learning about current research. I have been challenged, my beliefs have been challenged and my critical thinking skills have sky rocketed! I have grown so much since transferring to Capella. The flex path program has allowed me room to learn and grow and become who I am today. I cannot say enough about the program. I’m so grateful!

I am coming up on 20 years, since graduating from Capella University. When I was leaving the logo from the purple bear was changing. I still have that little purple bear with Capella written on it. I received my M.S in Human Service and Graduated Certificate in Social and Community Service, September 30, 2004. Capella University helped to open doors, I could not have imagine. I went on and attain five certifications and one license. I have worked in different capacities since attaining my M.S. degree. The skills that I attained in Human Service and Social and Community Service allowed me to work with individuals from all walks of life in different states. From the infant to the elderly, from the rich to the poor. It’s about helping people. Presently, I work as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) for the federal government. Just this recently, I ordered an Alumni hooded so, I can wear it when the weather gets a little warmer. I also, brought an alumni cup. Thanks, Capella University.

I got my MS in Health Psychology at Capella in 2004. (The program is no longer offered). Finishing my Masters Degree helped me to expand my skills in my position I had at the time, but then when it came time for me to change jobs, it helped me to better expand my wings. Today I am in a position where I get to help not only children with special needs, but the people in my unit that I supervise. I get to help them understand how to use a holistic approach to helping those we serve. I still use the things I learned at Capella almost 20 years ago. Thanks Capella!

I had never dreamed of going back for my MSN. A friend, co-worker, was going back and wanted us to go for the goal together. We started after the new year in 2023 and finished Nov 2023. Capella University made it super easy from start to finish. Thinking of maybe going back for my DNP. Thanks Capella University

I obtained my PhD in Human Services in 2013 and have sent several of my colleagues to join various programs that Capella offers. I would love to be a adjunct professor ❤

We believe students should be able to pursue a degree in a way that fits their busy life. That means learning the skills that are valued in the workforce without putting their life on hold. That’s the way Capella alum Tyler Bellamy, PhD, first earned his Masters then his PhD. Quite the flex!
