Would you like to learn more about the Conroe Police Department? Now is your chance with the Conroe PD Citizens Police Academy. The CPA is a 10-week public awareness program for citizens of the community. The Citizens Police Academy will be 10 weeks of classroom training, hands-on training, and a ride-along with a Patrol Officer. The class is from 7pm-10pm on Tuesdays. Please contact Officer Roy Dupuy with the training academy for an application and/or questions. This class is NOT part of the Conroe Police Department Police Academy.

2nd road closure for IH-45

**This will be the second weekend of the IH-45 road closure**
August 19th to August 21st
ROAD CLOSURE!!!
Starting Friday at 9pm through Sunday at 9pm.
TXDOT is expected to close southbound IH 45 for repairs to the San Jacinto River bridge. Southbound feeder road and all northbound lanes will remain open.
Expect delays and plan accordingly.

Conroe PD give Medal of Valor to a heroic EMT

Chief Christy and Mayor Czajkoski recognized Harris County Emergency Corps EMT Kenneth Elliott with a Medal of Valor for his actions on June 14, 2022.
On that date, EMT Elliott had transported a patient from Harris County to HCA Conroe for mental health evaluation and an Emergency Detention Order for Harris County law enforcement. While awaiting triage, and within minutes of arriving in the emergency room, the patient exhibited a handgun that was hidden under her dress and began randomly shooting in the crowded hospital. Without regard for his own safety, EMT Elliott took quick and decisive action, disarming the shooter as she discharged rounds.
Chief Christy said that EMT Elliott’s courageous actions likely prevented injury or death to the many patients and medical personnel present in the hospital.
Congratulations EMT Elliott and thank you for your service to the community!!

Conroe PD Civil Service Exam 7-16-22

The Conroe Police Department will be giving a Civil Service Examination for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. The test date will be on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 8:30 am. A letter of intent must be filed with Human Resources by 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will have their Donor Coach in the parking lot located at 2300 Plantation Dr.. Please consider donating blood, as there is a high demand and short supply at this time.

Traffic Delays

**Traffic Delays**
TXDOT will continue repairs of the southbound main lanes of IH45 over the San Jacinto River bridge near FM 1488 starting Friday, March 25, 2022 at 7pm, and is expected to last 7-8 hours. This closure has the potential to generate heavy traffic. Use caution when approaching the area, and find alternate routes if possible. The feeder road and HOV will remain open during construction.
