Homemade crème brûlée is easy when you start with store-bought custard — just add sugar, and torch!

Ingredients

  • 17 fluid ounces ready custard
  • 3-4 tablespoons caster sugar

Steps

  1. Butter four oven proof ramekins and heat the oven to 355°F. Heat the custard in a pan till warm then divide between the four ramekins to the top.
  2. Place the ramekins into an ovenproof dish with high sides and fill with boiling hot till half way up the ramekins.
