When Samara Weaving headed to the US to shoot The Babysitter after a successful run on Home And Away, she had no idea she was about to fall in love.
The Aussie starlet, who is now 30, began filming in 2015 and romance blossomed soon after – but it wasn’t another actor who had her smitten.
Jimmy Warden was a producer on the film and he managed to sweep the Aussie A-lister off her feet, sharing loved-up photos with her on Instagram as early as 2016.
But Samara, who is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to her personal life, decided to play the romance close to her chest.
Now, after a year of speculation, she has confirmed with The Herald Sun that Jimmy is her “husband” and their wedding “flew under the radar.”
She also gushed over getting to work with him again after their more than successful time on The Babysitter.
“I am actually about to go and work with my husband,” she said. “He has written and is directing a film, so I am going to go and do that, which will be really fun.”
The couple got engaged in March 2019, and Samara celebrated the news by posting a photo of herself beaming with a new ring adorning her left hand.
“So here goes! Jimbo and I are engaged!! Let’s party my loved ones!!” she wrote alongside the image, which you can see further down this page.
“P.S you know you’re loved when you can eat a ham and cheese toastie in bed and your fiancé says that’s beautiful.”
The sweet snap was accompanied by a close-up of her engagement ring, which featured a sapphire centre stone and diamonds surrounding it in a unique design.
Rumours of their marriage began in May 2021 when her partner posted a telling caption on an Instagram post.
“It’s been two years since I married my favourite actor in the world, Steve Zahn. Happy anniversary, Steve. I love you,” he wrote alongside a photo of them posing with fake moustaches.

Samara first appeared on Jimmy’s Instagram in this photo from November 2015, shortly after they met on the set of The Babysitter.
Fans caught on to their romance in September the following year, when Jimmy posted this mirror selfie cuddled up with Samara in an elevator.
A few months later he shared this snap with the caption “type A and type B in Taipei”, before confirming in the comments section that he and Samara were heading to her home nation – Australia!
In January 2017 this photo of Samara planting a smooch on Jimmy’s cheek was flooded with comments congratulating the couple on one year together.
In August, Samara made things official with this black and white post on her own Instagram page, which she captioned: “Thanks for taking care of me and my brain.”
She followed it up with a polaroid of the two of them goofing around.
Proud boyfriend Jimmy was front and centre when The Babysitter released in 2017 and Samara shot to stardom in the US.
She’s smitten! The usually reserved Samara posted this romantic photo for Valentine’s Day in 2018.
The duo rocked wild co-ordinated outfits for an outing together in LA in August 2018.
Who wore it best? Jimmy and Samara rocked matching suits to a friend’s 2019 wedding.
Soon after, Jimmy decided to put a ring on it and popped the question – and Samara said yes! She showed off her sparkler in these since-deleted Instagram photos.
Though her engagement post has disappeared, Samara is still smitten – and wearing her ring! – as seen in this 2020 snap.
The couple share a little terrier named Muriel and she’s the centre of their lives. In fact, Jimmy jokingly captioned this photo: “My wife and Sam”.
Jimmy posted this goofy picture in 2021 with the caption: “It’s been two years since I married my favorite actor in the world, Steve Zahn. Happy anniversary, Steve. I love you.”
