Since starting Weight Watchers in January, I have been asked what I eat for my breakfasts and lunches. Today, I’m sharing my favorite healthy breakfast choices that I like to eat. Next week, I will talk with you about lunches. As of Sunday, I have lost 26 lbs. on Weight Watchers.
First is yogurt.
I love yogurt for breakfast. However, most of it is high in sugar. Both Chobani and Oikos have zero sugar Greek yogurt options. Either one of those yogurts are only 1 point per individual cup. I have only tried the Oikos version so far. Now, I like to buy them in bulk from Sam’s Club or Costco. I get a better price per yogurt by buying them this way. Sometimes, I can’t find the Oikos version at Sam’s or Costco. In that case, I pick up Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt. This yogurt is 2 points per individual yogurt.
Second is fresh fruit.
Fresh fruit is 0 points per serving. I usually like to pair my 1 point yogurt along with some fresh fruit. I like raspberries or bananas. If I’m not pairing it yogurt, I like to eat Cuties, apples, grapes, or strawberries.
The third of my healthy breakfast choices is eggs.
For my WW personal points, eggs are a 0 point food. Now, I love eggs! I will eat them hard boiled, soft boiled, over medium, or scrambled. If eating the eggs hard boiled, over medium or soft boiled, I like to eat them along with a slice of Kirkland ham. This ham is 1 point a slice.
With the scrambled eggs, sometimes I’ll dice up a slice of ham and mix it in. I also like to add veggies to my scrambled eggs. My most favorite veggie to pair them with is mushrooms. I will sauté some sliced mushrooms with a little water. This is a trick I have learned for cooking veggies without adding any fat like butter or oil. Then, I put the cooked mushrooms on a plate and scramble the eggs in the pan I just cooked the mushrooms in. I top the mushrooms with the scrambled eggs and a little diced green onion. You can add scrambled eggs and salsa into a low carb flour tortilla too. I have found a brand (La Banderita Carb Counter) that is only 1 point.
The last thing I like to eat for my breakfast is fat free cottage cheese.
This is also a zero pint food for me on my WW personal points. Then I add in some canned pineapple or canned pears with it. For 1/4 cup drained canned pineapple chunks in juice, it’s 1 point. For 1/2 cup canned pears packed in extra-light syrup, it’s also 1 point. Just be sure to check the points if you use any other canned fruit. Depending on how it’s packed will determine the points.
