Help! I have a 2013 Ram 1500 with the Uconnect 8.4 radio. For about 5 months now my radio when in satellite mode is stuck saying “Acquiring Signal”. I’ve tried rebooting the radio, disconnecting the battery, and getting a refresh signal sent from Sirius. I stopped using Sirius because I’m not driving the truck daily anymore but activated it again today for $5 a month with streaming included. I went to try the truck again today and same message.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks!

Antenna maybe? I would check the plug in the back first.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

Have you guys had many cases of these? Just trying to get an idea if it is the antenna or not because it comes and goes but mostly it's stuck on acquiring signal.
Thanks,
Adam

Does your radio have the nav system as well, and does that work ?

It has the capability for NAV but the dealer wanted an extra $795 to activate it when I bought the truck so I told them no.
To answer the question...I don’t know if the NAV works or not because it’s not activated.

It just might be the antenna. I had to replace my "sharkfin" antenna. How it went bad is beyond me. I have the full console in my truck, so it was kind of a PIA to remove the radio. The antenna was another story. The antenna connection on the back of the radio is different, and not your typical looking antenna to radio and it is a pretty secure fit. You could maybe pick a simple sat radio antenna and try that. Not sure if you have the sharkfin on the roof or not. There are a couple of pretty good universtiy of utube videos to show how to remove the radio. A simple antenna would look something like this. Good luck.

Try holding the temp up down and defrost buttons all at once.mine did this tonight.held all three and it went away.it's been my experience that if it's the Antenna you would have no xm sound at all and you would get a check anntena see dealer message

My 2013 with basic radio does this around every 1 to 2 years. Dealer replaced radio 5 times and will continue to fail later. they've replaced the antenna, cables still fails. It seems something in the dashboard is temperature sensitive. The display starts locking up until the temperature inside changes in several minutes. After months of happening, it finally goes "acquiring Signal" and stays there forever. Disconnecting battery did not help.

I had same issue and replaced the shark fin. I also have Nav and that would not work so I knew the antenna was bad. They are known to go bad.
