FAQs

How do I reset my Toshiba air conditioner? ›

Resetting your Toshiba Air Conditioner

Depending on your model, the reset button will usually be located on the inside of the access panel. Open the access panel carefully, locate the reset button, press, and hold for a few seconds to initiate the reset.

What does AP mean on a Toshiba air conditioner? ›

Why does my Toshiba portable air conditioner keep saying P1? ›

1. Code P1 indicates the bottom tray is full. Carefully move the unit to a drain location, remove the bottom drain plug and let the water drain away.

Why does my Toshiba portable AC keep turning off? ›

As your air conditioner struggles with restricted airflow, it overworks itself, causing the portable AC to overheat, and intermittently shut off. Your AC vents might be too close to the wall, or you may have something blocking the AC vents. Poor airflow can be caused by a dirty air filter as well.

Where is the AC reset button located? ›

If your AC unit has a reset button on the condenser unit, you simply press it and hope that the problem resolves. Why does my portable AC unit keep going on and off? ›

If your portable air conditioner is turning off and on every few minutes, your unit is probably too large for your room and is "short cycling." This happens when cold air from an oversized unit bounces off the wall and back towards the unit, creating a room temperature reading that's cooler than the actual temperature.

Why is my Toshiba air conditioner not cooling? ›

More often than not, it's a thermostat issue. This is normally a disconnect between the outdoor unit and your air conditioner's thermostat. If the electrical connection is checked and found to be intact, your system might be in need of a refrigerant top up.

What does it mean when your AC keeps turning off? ›

A malfunctioning or faulty AC thermostat can cause your air conditioner to turn off by itself. It may switch quickly between off and on in short intervals, called “short cycling.” If the thermostat is not accurately sensing the room temperature, it may mistakenly signal the cooling to shut off prematurely.
