When spraying you can use masking tape with or on top of freshly sprayed Full Dip Or Plasti Dip. If your dip is sprayed right up to the edge of masking tape then just peel off tape after you have sprayed your last coat of dip or gloss top coat. Don’t go knocking over paint tins or spray guns in the rush to start peeling masking tape, you will have a couple of minutes to remove tape. But if you leave tape on for too long while drying it will peel your dip when removing tape.
If you have left it for too long then spray what ever you used as your last coat again. This time go over the area you want to remove the masking tape from with a light coat and go a little heavier over the top of the masking tape. Leave it for thirty seconds and start peeling tape and this should save you spray job. If you “loop” the masking tape at the ends it makes your life so much easier when it’s time to peel the tape.
Laying down masking tape on top of just sprayed dip
Leave dry for two hours and then use low tack tape and remove carefully and slowly after spraying last coat. if you can leave the dip dry for a day before you mask over it then you will have no problem applying and removing low tack masking tape. Just peel slowly and everything will be fine. Some masking tape can leave glue residue behind if left on dip for too long. I don’t know if this is cheap masking tape or a reaction from very fresh dip that still drying and the thinners evaporating reacts with tape ???. I found one guy fixed glue problem and removed with nano wax without damaging dip, see video link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3usI3iVDUFc

Layers are touch dry and re-coatable in 30-45 minutes at 16-22°c and totally cured/dry 24-48 hours depending on temperature. Increase drying times in colder conditions. Plasti Dip Primer is an adhesion promoter. Only use a primer to increase adhesion if you require a permanent coating.
You can spray this glossy coating over any other shade of liquid vinyl. We recommend spraying 2-4 coats, immediately after you finish spraying the coloured coats. 2 glossy FULLDIP® aerosols are enough to cover 4 tyres.
