Now you may be thinking there isn't a wrong way to wear socks, but you might be surprised to learn there is. The socks you wear have a substantial impact on your feet. Tight socks should be avoided because they cause your ankles and feet to swell. It also creates a problem with your circulation. Wearing loose socks is just as bad because they can cause toe rubbing and tripping.

Issues That Come with Tight Socks

Veins—the varicose veins occur in your feet and legs when your veins are enlarged. If you wear tight socks, those veins get weaker. That causes you to experience pain and irritation. You may also feel restless and tired. If you have these veins, you need to ensure you are not wearing tight socks.

Numbness in the feet—wearing tight socks for a long time can cause numbness in your feet because it irritates and disturbs your blood circulation. If you have diabetes, be especially careful because circulation is vitally crucial for diabetic feet.

Rashes—if you already have a skin condition, this will make it worse. Even on normal skin, tight socks create rashes. Someone who has a situation will cause itching, discomfort, and the skin condition will be much worse. If the skin is peeling and cut, you risk infection. If you are older or diabetic, be careful with your skin because you are at a higher risk of skin infections than others.

Fungal infections—the most common type of fungal infection is the athlete's foot. It occurs between the toes because fungus and bacteria love to live there. When you wear tight socks, your feet sweat more which in turn causes moisture. Too much lets bacteria grow, and fungal infections soon follow.
