When shopping for compression socks you may have noticed the mmHg on the label. What does this mean? MmHg stands for millimeters of mercury and it indicates the level of pressure or compression. Our socks provide graduated compression so the pressure is listed as a range. The higher number in the range is the amount of pressure at the foot while the lower number is amountat the top of the sock.

So which range is right for you?

If you are experiencing swelling in your legs it is important to discuss the issue with yourphysicianto understand the underlying cause.

With so many stylish options available, why wouldn't you try compression for the health and comfort of your legs?

Hello Alison, I hope today has been just Lovely, for you. I wanted to give you an answer to your question. (What Does mmHg stand for.? When shopping for compression socks you may have noticed the mmHg on the label. What does this mean.? Millimeters of mercury and it indicates the level of pressure or compression. Compression levels are viewed within a set of 2 numbers. Ex: 10-20mmhg~The compression will not fall below 10 and will not exceed 20mmHg. Millimeters of mercury is a measurement of pressure, which is also used in locating one's Blood Pressure. 10-20mmHg= Good for people who stand a lot during work or have swelling or there good to wear during airplane flights. 20-30mmHg= Moderate swelling & this amount really helps with varicose veins from forming. 30-40mmHg= Usually recommended by a Doctor. I hope this helps anyone. I thought maybe Alison was asking me a trick question. Respectfully, Eli Krebs "FieldSock"
