What I Eat in a Day on WW Purple Plan (1/13/21-Gluten Free, Dairy Free) - Mom's Plans (1)

This post contains affiliate links. The WW Green Plan was working well for me. However, as I thought about how I want life to be like after I lose all my weight, I realized that I don’t want to endless track my points for the rest of my life. Some people do this, and that works for them. However, I want to be able to eat naturally and eat a wide variety of foods without constantly keeping track of my points. So, at the beginning of the year, I decided to give another go with the WW Purple Plan. (I simply love that WW has three different plans you can freely choose between!) To give you an example of how this plan is working, here’s what I eat in a day on WW Purple Plan.

I get 16 points per day and 42 weekly points to use at my discretion.

Breakfast

I had 3 points at breakfast. (FYI, we eat a large breakfast as a family. We’re all usually hungry, and it keeps us going until lunch.)

Lunch

Lunch was zero points, and very tasty!

Chicken Breast (5 oz.)–0 pts.

Trader Joe’s Mashed Sweet Potato–0 pts.

Broccoli–0 pts.

Snack

I had several snacks between the hours of 11:30 a.m. when I ate lunch and 6:30 p.m. when I ate dinner. My snacks added up to eight points.

Unsweetened Applesauce–0 pts.

2 Simple Truth breakfast sausage–2 pts.

Homemade Banana Bread–6 pts.

Banana–0 pts.

Dinner

I had a 4 point dinner. I wasn’t really impressed with this recipe.

Chili Mac–4 pts.

Carrot Sticks–0 pts.

TOTAL for the Day: 15/16 pts.

Final Thoughts

This day was a day when I was a little under my points, but I have no problem going over my points, either. That’s what the 42 weeklies are for. In the three days before this day, I had a 17 point day, a 19 point day, and a 36 point day when I had a 14 point dessert.

I know some people like to always stay under their daily points and not use their weeklies, but that’s just not me. I’m not a huge fan of ground turkey, which is 0 points. Instead, I regularly use ground beef and count the points for it. I also like a snack of 3 TBSP walnuts and 1 TBSP raisins. That snack is 6 points, but it’s also a fairly healthy, filling snack, so I use the points for it.

By the way, during the week that I ate this what I eat in a day on WW Purple Plan, I lost 1.5 pounds, so the strategy is working for me so far. I’ll tweak it as needed as I go on.
