Ghostface Killers and Victims in Scream (1996)[]

In the original Scream movie, the killers are revealed as Billy Loomis, Sidney Prescott's boyfriend, and Stu Macher, Billy's best friend. The two began their killing spree by killing Maureen Prescott, Sidney's mother, who was having an affair with Hank Loomis. This resulted in Hank's divorce from Nancy Loomis (Billy's mother), which mentally broke Billy. One year later, Billy and Stu started a murder spree in Woodsboro, planning on recreating their beloved horror movies and becoming heroes for surviving the bloodbath. They wanted to kill Sidney Prescott, and frame her father, Neil Prescott as the killer.

Their first targets were Stu's ex-girlfriend, Casey Becker and her new boyfriend, Steven Orth. Firstly, they attacked Steve off-screen and taped him to a chair at Casey's patio of her house. Billy then calls Casey, using a voice modulator (voiced by Roger L. Jackson), threatening her and asking her horror movie trivia. After getting an answer wrong, Ghostface gutted Steve, as Casey looked in horror. Casey tried to escape, but she was caught outside. Ghostface strangled, stabbed multiple times, gutted and finally hung Casey from a tree.

Ghostface's first cinematic appearance was in Scream where the identity was used by a killer stalking the fictional town of Woodsboro. After the killing spree begins, Sidney Prescott begins receiving taunting and threatening phone calls from Ghostface who claims knowledge of her mother Maureen Prescott's brutal rape and murder, one year prior to the events of the film; a murder that was blamed on Cotton Weary. The Ghostface disguise allows suspicion to fall on many people, including Sidney's boyfriend, Billy Loomis; her father, Neil Prescott; her friend, Randy Meeks; and her schoolmate, Stu Macher.

The next day, their next victim became Arthur Himbry, the principal of Woodsboro High. Ghostface snucked into Himbry's office and stabbed him to death. They killed him in order to get the guests out of Stu's party so they could be alone with Sidney. That night, Billy and Stu planned another attack at Stu's party. Stu asked his girlfriend Tatum Riley to get more beer's from the garage. There is also cut out recorded scene, where Macher uses Gale as excuse to grab beer and go after Tatum. Craven however found it too obvious implication of Stuard being killer and cut that scene off,

Their last (not planned) victim was Kenny Brown, Gale's cameraman, who was killed outside by Stu, getting his throat slashed.

Ghostface Killers and Victims in Scream 2 (1997)[]

In Scream 2, the killers are revealed as Mickey Altieri, Sidney's college friend, and Nancy Loomis, Billy's vengeful mother, who went undercover as Debbie Salt. This time, the killers had a different motive. Mickey wanted to gain infamy for the Windsor College murders, and unlike Billy, he wanted to get caught and go down in history as a famous serial killer. Nancy's motive was an "old-fashioned revenge", as she sought revenge on Sidney for killing her son. A series of murders occur at Windsor College, Sidney's current location, with the initial victims sharing names with Billy and Stu's victims from Scream. The killer again taunt Sidney and attempt to kill her. The Ghostface disguise allows suspicion to fall on several characters, including Cotton Weary, once again, and Sidney's new boyfriend, Derek Feldman.

Mickey and Nancy started their killing spree with Phil Stevens and Maureen Evans to replicate the murders of the first two Woodsboro victims: Maureen Prescott and Steven Orth. Ghostface hids in the bathroom, where Phil Stevens is killed, as he was stabbed in the ear through the bathroom stall. Ghostface takes his coat so Maureen will assume he is Phil. Ghostface repeatedly stabs Maureen to death at the movies amongst a crowd of people in Ghostface costumes. Their third victim was Casey "Cici" Cooper, as she shares the same name with Casey Becker, third victim of Woodsboro murders. She was killed, when Ghostface threw her off the balcony. The fourth person they killed was Randy Meeks, Woodsboro survivor. After Randy insulted Billy on the phone with Nancy, she dragged him into the van, where she stabbed him to death of angrily. The next victims were Sidney's bodyguards (Andrews and Richards), and her roommate, Hallie McDaniel. The last victim was Derek Feldman, Sidney's new boyfriend, who was shot by Mickey after he was revealed as one of the killers.

Ghostface Killer in Scream 3 (2000)[]

In Scream 3, Ghostface is revealed as Sidney's half-brother, Roman Bridger, born to their mother Maureen during a two-year period when she moved to Hollywood to become an actress under the name Rina Reynolds. After being gang-raped and impregnated at a party, she gave Roman up for adoption who, as an adult, sought her out, only to be rejected, denying she had ever been Rina. Roman began stalking Maureen and filming her adulterous liaisons with other men including Hank. He used this footage to reveal to Billy why his mother had "abandoned" him before convincing him to kill Maureen, sparking the chain of events in Scream (1996) and Scream 2 (1997).

Ghostface Killers and Victims in Scream 4 (2011)/SCRE4M[]

In Scream 4, the killers are revealed as Jill Roberts, Sidney's cousin, and Charlie Walker, horror movie fanatic and Jill's high school friend, with whom he had a crush. Jill grew up in the shadow of her famous cousin Sidney Prescott. She felt like her mother, Kate Roberts, loved Sidney more, which translated itself into an irrational jealousy toward Sidney's attention, and sought to take it for herself. Not wanting to work hard or get a job, Jill planned a murder spree in Woodsboro to achieve this.

Jill and Charlie started their killing spree by killing Marnie Cooper and Jenny Randall. When Jenny was upstairs, Ghostface kidnapped and killed Marnie off-screen. After that he called Jenny and taunted her over the phone, shortly before they threw Marnie's corpse through a nearby window. Ghostface then chased Jenny until she was finally killed. The night later, Charlie, as Ghostface, brutally murders Olivia Morris, his and Jill's classmate, as he stabs her multiple times, smashes her head through the window, and finally guts her, while Kirby and Jill (who plays the victim) watch in horror. Their next victim was Rebecca Walters, Sidney's publicist. Ghostface stalked her in the parking lot, where she is stabbed in the stomach and later carried and thrown off the building, causing her demise. Another later night, Jill and Charlie's next victims are deputies Hoss and Perkins. Initially, both were stabbed by Jill (Hoss in the back, Perkins in the forehead). Then, Charlie drove two blocks away to finish them off for good, and left their bodies there. Shortly after their deaths, Kate Roberts is killed, having been stabbed in the back. The action moves to the "anti-party" at Kirby's house, where Robbie is stabbed to death outside the house by his best friend, Charlie.

Charlie and Jill later revealed themselves to Sidney, who intend to kill her, frame Jill's ex-boyfriend, Trevor Shelton (new generation "Billy Loomis"), and become the current generation's "Sidney" and "Randy Meeks", with the accompanying fame of being the "survivors" of the massacre. During the revelations, Trevor is killed by Jill after she shoots him in the head. The latest victim of the 2011 Woodsboro murders was one of its preparators, Charlie Walker, after he was betrayed and stabbed to death by Jill so she could be the sole survivor.

Lakewood Slasher(s) and Victims in Season 1 (2015) of Scream: MTV Series[]

In the first season, the Lakewood Slasher is revealed as Piper Shaw, Emma's half-sister and daughter of Brandon James, accused of the 1994 killings. After Brandon's alleged death by police, Maggie's parents made her give up the baby for adoption, with Maggie never even knowing if the baby was a boy or a girl. This drove Piper mad, as she believed her younger half-sister Emma had "the perfect life", while she never got to know her parents. Piper was sent to the blessed sister's children home, where she was foster sisters with Kristen Lang. Ultimately, Piper was invited to Lakewood by Audrey Jensen, who revealed her parentage in a fit of rage and looked to collaborate on a documentary about Brandon James. With Kieran Wilcox, her unrevealed in season one accomplice, Piper planned a "reboot" killing spree, targeting Emma's friends in order to make her suffer as well as avenging her father Brandons supposed death for whom she blamed her for mother for. Piper was also a famous podcaster, who documented murders. She used this as her cover to interact with the citizens of Lakewood, and also "bonded" with Emma. With her and Kieran assuming the identity of Lakewood Slasher, fashioned after Brandon James, she took great pleasure in making Emma suffer by killing her friends, and making Emma feel indirectly responsible.

Piper and Kieran's first victims were Nina Patterson, a mean, cruel, and arrogant student at George Washington High School who enjoyed tormenting and destroying the lives of others, especially Audrey Jensen, and her boyfriend, Tyler O'Neill, whom she repeatedly cheated on. The night before Nina's death, Kieran met with her, believing that she would give him a lot of information about Emma and her friends so that it would be easier for him and Kieran to taunt Emma. However, Piper felt jealous of Kieran and decided that Nina, her supposed rival, had to die first. Kieran killed Tyler off-screen by beheading him, and used his phone to text Nina. While Kieran was texting Nina, Piper threw Tyler's head into the pool Nina was in. Nina tried to run away, but Piper got to her first and slit her throat before throwing her corpse into the pool. Their next victim was Rachel Murray, Audrey's girlfriend. While Piper was with Audrey, Kieran faked Rachel's suicide to make Emma feel responsible for Rachel's "suicide". Kieran killed Rachel by throwing her over the edge of a balcony with a noose wrapped around her neck, snapping her neck. Piper and Kieran's next victims were Riley Marra, Emma's friend, and Will Belmont, Emma's ex-boyfriend. Piper killed Riley by stabbing her twice in the back of abdomen and also slashing open her leg, which caused Riley to bleed to death. Will and Piper (playing victim) were initially attacked by Kieran, who kidnapped Will and held him until Emma found him and rescued him. Later, however, Will is attacked off-screen by Piper, which then lures Emma to come to where Will is. Emma finds Will tied to a chair with his mouth taped shut, and behind him is a large, trencher that's turned on. Emma runs to Will, only to trip over a trip wire. The trip wire was attached to a lever in the machine, forcing the lever downward as Emma's foot triggers it. The lever pushes down to set the front of the saw-like machine into a downward motion, sending it right through Will's skull and then body. Thus, Will is brutally murdered. Piper's next victim is deputy Clifton Roberts, whom Piper killed to free Seth Branson from prison, whom she later planned to frame for the murders. The penultimate victim was Sheriff Clark Hudson, Kieran's biological father. Clark is initially knocked out by Kieran with a fire poker. Off-screen, Clark is then taken unconscious by Kieran to the Anderson family home, where Kieran gutted Clark's stomach and embedded with rope, which binds him to the backyard tree. When Maggie and Emma arrived after some time to save Clark, Maggie begins to cut through both sides of the rope holding him against the tree and upon pulling the rest from him releases his guts, accidentally disemboweling him. The latest victim of the 2015 Lakewood murders is Grayson Pieffer, a student at George Washington High School. Piper killed him off-screen at Brooke's party to get rid of the partygoers.

At one point, the 1994 murders that Brandon James was framed for are also mentioned. Five teenagers who were tormenting Brandon were killed. Behind these murders was the Third Killer, either Kevin Duval or Troy James.

Lakewood Slasher(s) and Victims in Season 2 (2016) of Scream: MTV Series[]

In season 2, the Lakewood Slasher is revealed as Kieran Wilcox, Emma's boyfriend and Piper's accomplice and secret lover. In childhood, his father Clark Hudson left him in Atlanta in order to support his addiction to pain pills. During his time in Atlanta, Kieran began stalking a girl and framed his cousin Eli, who already had a criminal record, for it. Kieran lived with his stepfather and mother in Atlanta until they died in a car accident, which was indirectly (or directly) caused by him. Following their deaths, Kieran moved to Lakewood and returned living with his father. In Lakewood, Kieran met Piper Shaw, who had been previously rejected by her mother named Maggie Duval. They instantly formed a bond with each other, hating the affair with their parents and began dating. Planning to get revenge on Emma and Maggie, Piper recruited Kieran, who had to act as her "spy" and secondary killer. After killing several people, Piper attempted to kill Emma and Maggie, only to be shot to death by Audrey Jensen, the person responsible for bringing Piper to Lakewood. Her corpse was retrieved by Kieran and stored in an orphanage. Enraged by her death, Kieran was motivated to start another killing spree, now targeting not only Emma, but Audrey as well. In Season 2, Kieran continued Piper's work once Emma returned from a therapy retreat, starting the killing spree all over again. Kieran, unlike other killers, did not usually use a knife to kill. He used, among others: a scythe (to kill Jake), a corkscrew (to kill Eddie), an iron (to ignite Seth's severed hand, whose he later burned alive), a coffin (in which he drowned Zoë), and a pitchfork (to kill Mayor Maddox).

In Halloween Special, in the same season, we deal with a lot of murder themes.

The first mentioned killer is Anna Hobbs, speculated in the legends as a completely insane murderer who killed her family. During the episode, Noah, however, theorized that Anna did not commit the murders, but rather it had been Reginald Whitten, a man who had an affair with her mother but then wanted to take advantage of a teenaged Anna. Anna's mother tried to protect her but Reginald viciously murdered her, and then Anna's little brother who had witnessed the whole thing. He tried again to have his way with Anna who killed him out of self-defense but was dealt a lethal blow in turn. Knowing that no one would believe her, Anna tried to flee the island but succumbed to her injuries and died. Her bloody story was made up by Reginald's wife, who moved her husband's body to the mansion to make it appear he'd been murdered there, all to protect her family image from scandal and labeled Anna a monster. After defeating the main killer (see below for his identity), Noah began to tell Anna's true story and thus went from being a psychopathic and insane killer to a heroine.

The main killer in the special (Shallow Grove Slasher), is revealed as Tom Martin. When Tom was a child, his parents were murdered, and he witnessed their deaths. Years later, upon hearing about Emma Duval and her experience as the survivor of two killing sprees, he felt that they could have a relationship together since they were alike. The first phase was getting in to a editor named Jeremy Blair's site and reviving the old tale about Anna Hobbs. Tom's first victim was Alex Whitten, Reginald's ancestor. Tom killed Alex and assumed his identity so he could get closer to Emma. Tom then killed all people, who knew the real Alex and would recognize Tom as a fraud, including: Sid, store and musem clerk, Billie Fields, a caretaker at the Whitten Mansion, sheriff Carpenter and then Jeremy Blair, who discovered the truth about Alex (Tom) just before Tom killed him. At the climax, however, Emma discovers the truth about Tom when she finds the corpse of the real Alex Whitten. Tom explains that he committed the murders for Emma, as he is in love with her and explains they are alike. Emma pretended for a moment that she reciprocated Tom's feelings, but when she has a chance, knees him in the groin and escapes with the shears. Tom searches for her in the house with his shotgun, but gets distracted when he encounters Gina, allowing Emma to stab him in the back with his own shears, injuring him. An injured Tom runs upstairs and confronts Emma, who declares that she doesn't need him, being the tough survivor she is. Tom furiously attempts to attack her, only to be shoved off the balcony to his death.

The last (actually, the first on-screen) in Halloween Special killer was the same, who was responsible for the murders in 1994. In the 12th episode When a Stranger Calls, in prison, one of guards inform Kieran that his lawyer is calling, Kieran answers the phone and someone with Lakewood Slasher's voice tells him: "Hello Kieran. Who told you, you could wear my mask?". Kieran is visibly confused by the call. After Kieran's trial, he is escorted in courthouse cell by the two guards before had to be transported to the prison. One of the guards leaves to see if the situation with medias outside is better. Kieran looks up and sees the killer in ventilation system above him. Nervous, he said to guard he need "use the can", but the guard refuses. The killer starts open the vent, but guard hears the cracking, they jumps out and snaps guard's neck in 180 degrees, while Kieran looks on in shock. They takes guard's keys, lets Kieran out and confronts him. Kieran says: "Alright, you kept your word. So you gonna tell me who you are?" The killer responds by slicing his throat. Kieran starts crawling toward the guard's gun but the killer pins him down and stabs him in back of neck, twisting it. They then turn to Kieran's corpse which continues bleed and leave before he could be caught.

Who is the Third Killer in Scream: MTV Series?[]

The identity of the Third Killer has never been revealed. Despite this, two likely candidates are Kevin Duval, Emma's father, and Troy James, Brandon's brother.

Why could it be Troy James?[]

Troy was Brandon James' older brother, who took care of him for most of their childhood. However, when they grew up, both fell in love with Maggie Duval (Daisy Anderson). Troy's jealousy and bitterness for raising Brandon instead of their parents took the better of him, and made him orchestrate a plan to ruin Brandon's name and chance to have Maggie. Years later, Brandon was shot, and therefore lost Maggie, but not before impregnating her with their future daughter Piper Shaw. Enraged from the fact Brandon left his mark despite losing Maggie, Troy decided to put the mask again and kill Kieran in the courthouse. When he said "who told you that you can wear my mask?", he meant to make it appear as if Brandon is upset with Kieran failing to live to his legacy. Thus, Troy's plan, which was to make his brother infamous for taking away his opportunity to be with Maggie, and also for leaving a trail after his supposed death, succeeded. At the end of the Halloween special, a man named "Mr. James" checks into the Lakewood Motel. Although Brandon was proven alive, Troy was most likely the one who checked into the Lakewood Motel, as Brandon still wrongly had a reputation as a psychopathic killer, and the receptionist would not treat him kindly, on the contrary, she would be shocked that Brandon was alive. However, we'll never know why Troy checked into the hotel and returned to Lakewood.

Why could it be Kevin Duval?[]

Just as Troy makes sense as the killer in 1994, it makes much less sense as the killer who killed Kieran, because wanting to defame his brother again by killing Kieran wasn't the best and necessarily sensible way to do it. And since the 1994 and 2016 Lakewood Slasher are logically the same person, since the killer asks Kieran "who told you you could wear my mask?", that leaves us with a second suspect, Kevin Duval. As the father of Emma and husband of Maggie, he wanted to get even with the person who almost killed his daughter on one hand, and frame Brandon James for being his love rival on the other hand. His plan to achieve both was to dress like Brandon, marketing himself as the original Lakewood Slasher, and years later, breaking into Kieran's cell. His words "who told you that you can wear my mask?" were meant to berate Kieran for using a mask of caring boyfriend while planning to kill his daughter. By killing Kieran under the mask of Brandon James, Kevin took revenge on him, because Kieran wanted to hurt Emma, as well as taking revenge from Brandon by slandering him of 1994 murders and making him unrightfully infamous. At end of the Halloween Special, when Noah Foster wonders who killed Kieran in Courthouse if not Tom Martin, Kevin Duval is shown to be back in Lakewood. He is shown watching Kieran's grave, heavily implying he is the Third Killer and is resposible of Kieran's death. Noah also asks "Was it someone Kieran hurt?". Kieran did not physically harm Kevin, however he did mentally in an attempt to kill Emma, which would be consistent with Noah's suspicions about the identity of the Third Killer.

Ghostface Killers in Scream: Resurrection/Season 3 (2019)[]

The killers are revealed as Beth, one of members of the Deadfast Club, and Jamal Elliot, Marcus Elliot's half brother. While Beth had no particular motive, and like Mickey, wanted to become a slasher, Jamal's motive was to get revenge on Marcus for indirectly contributing to Deion's (Marcus' twin brother) death, whose identity he later stole.

Ghostface Killers and Victims in Scream (2022)[]

In Scream 5, the killers are revealed as Richie Kirsch, Sam's boyfriend, and Amber Freeman, Tara's, best friend. The pair devised a plan to create their own "requel" and they were going to use Samantha Carpenter as their Ghostface and Tara Carpenter and her friends as the basis for their movie.

At the beginning of the film, Ghostface attacks Sam's sister Tara, barely letting her live, attracting the attention of Tara's older sister Sam, and her boyfriend Richie. Tara became the first opening victim, who was not killed by Ghostface.

Their first victim was Vince Schneider, Stu Macher's nephew. Vince was killed outside the bar, when he was stabbed in the side of neck, as he bleed out to death. The next victims were the Hicks family: Judy, a survivor of the 2011 murders, and her son, Wes. Judy, who was driving to the station at the time, was lured back by to her house, where she was attacked outside the entrance and repeatedly stabbed to death in the stomach. Not much later, an oblivious Wes was surprised at his home by Ghostface. Wes was killed, when Ghostface stabbed him in the neck.

Richie and Amber's next target was Dewey Riley, a legacy character, who survived all the previous killing sprees. Amber managed to kill Dewey at the hospital, who came along with Samantha and Richie (who played the victim) to save Tara. When Dewey tried to shoot Amber in the head, he was distracted by a phone call. Amber took advantage of this and, having two knives, stabbed him in the stomach and back, then pulled the knives, cutting open Dewey's stomach, back and the chest. With the vocal modifier, Amber said, "It's an honor!", and kicked his dying body to the ground afterwards. The last victim of 2022 Woodsboro murders was Liv McKenzie, Tara's schoolmate and Chad's boyfriend. She was shot in the head by Amber, who revealed herself as the first Ghostface.

Ghostface Killers and Victims in Scream 6/Scream VI (2023)[]

At the beginning of Scream VI, the Ghostface is revealed to be Jason Carvey, a film student at Blackmore University and the roommate of Greg Buckner, who together wanted to finish making Richie Kirsch's film that was halted when Sam Carpenter killed him. However, Jason ultimately turns out to be a fake, wannabe Ghostface who ends up killed by the true Ghostface, who is revealed to be Wayne Bailey, NYPD Detective. He, along with his kids and other Ghostfaces, Quinn Bailey and Ethan Landry, roommates of the Cour Four, all wanted avenge the death of Richie Kirsch, who turned out to be related to the all the killers from Scream VI.

The first murder of Kirsch Family was Mrs. Kirsch, Wayne's wife, that happened before the events of the film. It is speculated that Wayne and Ethan killed her after she refused to help with their revenge plans against Sam. However, this is a murder revealed in a deleted scene and it is unknown if it is canon. The first onscreen victim was Laura Crane, a film professor at the Blackmore University, who was stabbed numerous times by Jason, who wanted to test out his murder skills. However, not much later, Jason himself becomes a victim of Ghostface. Wayne killed and dismembered Greg off-screen and placed his body in the fridge for Jason to find. As this happened, Wayne attacked Jason and repeatedly stabbed him in the stomach to death, to make him feel "like an animal". Jason, dying, responds that he has to finish movie, but Wayne asks him: "Who gives a f-ck about movies?!" and finishes him off.

Ghostface's next objective was to attack Bodega, where Sam and Tara sought help. Ghostface managed to kill 2 customers in the Bodega by stabbing one multiple times in the stomach and the other in the neck, and also shot a clerk in the head with a shotgun. The next morning, Kirsch's family next victim was Dr. Christopher Stone, Sam's therapist. Ghostface goes to Dr. Stone's house and knocks on the front door, luring him over. As he looks out the glass, Ghostface smashes his head against metal door and deeply stabs Stone in the nose, as he falls to death.

Ghostface's next target was the apartment. Ethan, disguised as Ghostface, first killed off-screen Quinn's lover, Paul, in the bathtub. Then, he fakes Quinn's death to remove her from the list of suspects, and finally managed to kill Anika, Mindy's girlfriend. Ethan initially brutally stabs Anika in the stomach, twisting the knife and ripping open her stomach, and later, As Anika tried to get to the other side with the stab wound, Ethan managed to get into the room and then shook the ladder, causing Anika to fall to her death and crushing her head when hitting the dumpster bin.

The last, unplanned victim, was Brooks, Gale's new boyfriend. He was killed by Quinn, who attacked him off-screen and slashed his throat. She then threw his corpse through the glass to scare Gale and then attack her and try to kill her, but as it later turned out, to no avail.

  2. Laura Crane is killed by Jason Carvey. After Jason lured Laura into a dark alley, he attacked and stabbed Laura multiple times in the stomach and chest.
  3. Greg Bruckner is killed most likely by Wayne Bailey or Quinn Bailey. (Most likely) Wayne dismembered him off-screen and put Greg's corpse in the fridge.
  4. Jason Carvey is killed by Wayne Bailey or Quinn Bailey. After Jason found Greg's body, Ghostface stabbed him in the back and then multiple times in the stomach, disembowelling him.
  5. 2 Bodega Customers and Bodega Clerk are killed by Ethan Landry or Quinn Bailey in the bodega attack. Either Ethan or Quinn did the attack on bodega, after Sam and Tara ran away to a bodega to find help. Ethan or Quinn got in there too, and he/she managed to kill 2 customers by stabbing one of them multiple times in the stomach and the other in the neck, and also shot a clerk in the head with his own shotgun.

Kill Count[]

  1. Kieran Wilcox - Kieran is confirmed to be the killer, that has the most kills in the franchise, having 13 or 15 kills (if we believe that he also killed his parents in a car crush) However, he is also the only Ghostface (Lakewood Slasher), that was killing in two different killing sprees. In 2015, as Piper's accomplice, he killed 4 people: Tyler O'Neill (Nina's boyfriend), Rachel Murray (Audrey's girlfriend), Will Belmont (his "love" rival) Sheriff Clark Hudson (his own father). One year later, in the 2016 Lakewood Murders, he committed 9 murders: Jake Fitzgerald (Lakewood Six member), Eddie Hayes, Seth Branson (former teacher), Deputy Dwayne, Haley Meyers (his affair), Zoe Vaughn, Mayor Maddox, Deputy Stevens and Eli Hudson (his cousin). Kieran usually didn't use a knife to kill his victim, as he was killing people with stuff like scythe or corkscrew, making him one of the most brutal killers in the franchise.
  2. Roman Bridger - Roman did less murders than Kieran, however Roman, unlike Kieran, he committed all of his murders in one killing spree. Roman has 9 kills, amongst: Cotton Weary (legacy character) and his girlfriend, Christine Hamilton, Stab 3 crew: Sarah Darling, Steven Stone, Tom Prinze, Angelina Tyler, Tyson Fox and Jennifer Jolie, and after revealing himself, John Milton (his possible own father).
  3. Ethan Landry - Ethan most likely has the higher kill count of the Kirsch Family. Ethan has at least 2 kills, and if we believe, that he killed his own mother, and also attacked the Bodega, he has 6 kills then. Ethan possibly killed 3 people in the Bodega (2 customers and Bodega clerk), Paul (Quinn's lover), and even his best friend, Anika Kayoko, who was one of the few people who sympathized with and trusted Ethan, making Ethan killing Anika by far one of the saddest deaths in the franchise.
  4. Jill Roberts - Jill, "the new Sidney Prescott", has 5 or 6 kills. She killed Jenny Randall (the girl Trevor cheated on her with), Deputy Anthony Perkins, Kate Roberts (her own mother), and after revealing herself, she killed Trevor Sheldon (her ex-boyfriend, "the new Billy Loomis") and Charlie Walker (her accomplice and "the new Stu Macher"). It is speculated, that she also killed Rebecca Walters and Deputy Hoss, however, it is likely that these murders are Charlie's.
  5. Mickey Altieri - Mickey has 5 kills, amongst: Maureen Evans, Sidney's bodyguards: Andrews and Richards, Hallie McDaniel (Sidney's roommate) and Derek Feldman (Sidney's new boyfriend). However, Mickey was a serial killer before the events of Scream 2, so in that case, we can speculate that he committed more kills in his "serial killer's career".
  6. Piper Shaw - Piper, as the Lakewood Slasher, has 5 kills. She killed Nina Patterson, Riley Marra (Emma's friend), Will Belmont (Emma's ex-boyfriend), Deputy Clifton Roberts and Grayson Pfeiffer.
  7. Beth - Beth, as Ghostface, has 5 kills. She killed Shane and Manny (one of the Deadfast Club members), Amir Ayoub (a man, who was in love with and trusted her, which makes this death the saddest in Scream: Resurrection), Officer Westbrook and for last, she killed Jamal Elliot (her former accomplice)
  8. Amber Freeman - Amber, one of the most brutal Ghostfaces in Scream franchise, has 5 kills. She killed Vince Schneider (Stu's nephew), Sheriff Judy Hicks (a legacy character), Deputy Clay, Liv McKenzie (her "friend"), but in particular, she manages to brutaly murder a legendary legacy character, who survived four previous killing sprees, Dewey Riley.
  9. Tom Martin - Tom (The Shallow Grove Slasher) also has 5 kills. He killed Alex Whitten (ancestor of serial killer Reginald Whitten, whose identity he later stole), Sid (museum guide), Billie Fields (Whitten Mansion' housekeeper), Sheriff Carpenter (not related with Sam and Tara), and Jeremy Blair.
  10. Charlie Walker - Charlie, speculated to has 8 kills (every kill as Ghostface in Scream 4), actually has 4 or 5 kills likely. Charlie killed Marnie Cooper (Jenny's best friend), Olivia Morris (Jill's friend, whose murder is considered as the most brutal in the entire franchise), Deputy Hoss, and Robbie Mercer (his best friend). It is also likely, that he was the Ghostface to kill Rebecca Walters.
  11. Jamal Elliot - Jamal killed 4 people in his Ghostface costume. He killed Tommy Jenkins (the indirect culprit in Deion's death), Avery Collins (Marcus' high school rival), Latavious (his neighbor), and Luther Thompson (known as Hook Man, for being responsible of Deion's death).
  12. Billy Loomis - Billy single-handedly killed 2 people, and with Stu's help, he killed two more for a total of 4 kills. Along with Stu, he killed Maureen Prescott (Sidney's mother) and also Casey Becker (Stu's ex-girlfriend). Already without Stu's help, he killed Arthur Himbry (Woodsboro High School principal), and Tatum Riley (Sidney's best friend and Stu's girlfriend).
  13. Quinn Bailey - Quinn has 1 confirmed kill, which was Brooks (Gale's boyfriend). However, if we assume, that she was also the Ghostface in the Bodega, she has 4 kills then.
  14. Wayne Bailey - Wayne most likely has 3 kills, and if we believe, that he killed his wife, he has 4 kills then. Wayne killed two wannabe Ghostface killers, Greg Bruckner and Jason Carvey, and Dr. Christopher Stone (Sam's therapist).
  15. Stu Macher - Stu Same as Billy, Stu single-handedly kills 2 people, and with Billy's help also 2, which also makes him killing 4 people. Stu helped Billy killed Maureen Prescott and Casey Becker. Stu single-handely brutally killed Steven Orth (Casey's boyfriend), and Kenny Brown (Gale's cameraman).
  16. Nancy Loomis - Nancy has 3 kills in her Ghostface costume. She killed Phil Stevens (remake Steven Orth), Cici Cooper (remake Casey Becker), and Randy Meeks (a legacy character).
  17. Richie Kirsch - Richie, as Ghostface, has only 1 kill, which was Wes Hicks (Judy's son).
  18. Jason Carvey - Jason has 1 confirmed kill as Ghostface, which was Laura Crane (his film professor). However, it is speculated, that he killed more people before the events of the films, because he said, that he has "blue balls" with killing.
  19. Greg Bruckner - Greg is the Ghostface, that has 0 confirmed kills, but it is possible, that he killed few people before the events of the film, just like his partner, Jason.

Notes/Trivia/Debates[]

While this is only a who-killed-who page, there are a few kills that need to be covered a bit more for dubious fans.

Scream (1996)[]

In the original Scream, there are two kills, that need to be talk out. While there's no problem explaining why Stu was the Ghostface who killed Steven and Kenny, and Billy being Ghostface that killed Himbry, there's still more to be said about the two most iconic deaths in the original film: Casey Becker and Tatum Riley .

  • On Twitter, Kevin Williamson stated, that Stu was the Ghostface who killed Casey Becker. However, his words are not entirely true, because of killers' M.O.. Stu used two hands to stab his victims, and before stabbing them, he would often taunt his victim before landing the blow (Sidney's first attack and almost killing Randy). Billy, on the other hand, used one hand to stab and, unlike Stu, preferred quicker kills and mind games. The Ghostface who chased, caught, and repeatedly stabbed Casey, was Billy, not Stu. Ghostface attacking Casey had Billy's M.O.: he used one hand to stab, and also appeared to strangle Casey (the same thing Billy did on Sidney in the final scene). The only way we could say Williamson was right is that Stu may have dealt Casey the killing blow off-screen (since we don't see Casey getting gutted on-screen, so it's possible Stu did). However, this does not change the fact that Billy was the Ghostface who attacked her on-screen.
  • Up until a certain time, a highly speculated kill to arrange was that of Tatum. Many fans used to think that Stu was the Ghostface who killed Tatum, due to the fact that it would make sense that Stu would kill his girlfriend. (same as Casey, but as stated above, this has most likely been refuted). Ghostface that killed Tatum seemed clumsy and awkward. Instead of immediately attacking and trying to kill his victim (as Billy did before), Ghostface toyed with Tatum in "Psycho Killer". Ghostface's behavior just shown, it's very out of Billy's character, leading many fans to believe that Stu was Tatum's killer. But here's the argument, why Billy killed Tatum, not Stu. Stu was the host of the party and he wouldn't be able to disappear for a few minutes as he would have been noticed. He only closed the garage door. It should also be noted that Billy arrives at the party right after Tatum's murder and gives Stu signs that he has killed Tatum, like: "Job done, she's dead.". Some fans believed that the sign Billy was sending to Stu was something like: "Well done". however, as explained earlier: Stu was the host of the party and couldn't be gone for that long while Billy was nowhere to be seen.

Scream 2 (1997)[]

In Scream 2, we also have two kills to talk out. Mickey has 5 confirmed kills: Maureen Evans, Sidney's two bodyguards, Hallie and Derek, while Nancy has one confirmed kill: Randy. Let's talk about Phil Stevens and Cici Cooper's murders then.

  • Phil Stevens is the first kill in Scream 2. Many fans are convinced and certain that Mickey was the Ghostface, who killed Phil. And here we come with a statement as to why likely Nancy, not Mickey, killed Phil. Ghostface in the bathroom stall next to Phil was making female noises, and if you listen closely, you can hear "son talking to mother", which would be a reference to Billy and Nancy. Many fans don't see how Nancy could be Phil's killer, as she was allegedly only interested in those involved in her son's death (Gale and Sidney), and also because Ghostface manages to stab Phil in the ear through the bathroom stall, impaling it, which required great strength that Nancy supposedly didn't have. However, here's the argument why Nancy would have no problem getting a knife through a bathroom stall: Ghostface, who attacks Sidney for the first time (here we already know without much doubt that it is Nancy), is able to drive a knife through the door, almost stabbing Derek. If Nancy was able to get a knife through a door, why would she have more difficulty getting the knife through a bathroom stall? We also see that Ghostface (in this case Mickey) appears in the cinema hall next to Maureen quite quickly, which would mean that (assuming he was the Ghostface solo in the opening) he would have to quickly hide Phil's body and also take off his coat very quickly from his' corpse. This leaves one scenario as follows: To save time, and also to make the murders easier, two killers are involved in the murders of Phil and Maureen. Nancy hides in the bathroom stall and kills Phil. Mickey immediately appears in the bathroom and takes Phil's coat, while Nancy is the one who hides Phil's body after killing him.
  • When we talk about Cici Cooper, again many fans are convinced and sure that Mickey is her killer. However, we get to the same thing we did with Phil: we explain why it wasn't Mickey again, and Nancy was likely the Ghostface who killed Cici. We know there are two killers involved, because when Cici's friend is talking to "Ted" on the phone, we can see Ghostface sneaking in behind Cici without a phone at the same time "Ted" is talking. Mickey didn't arrive at the party until the scene that followed the murder of Cici. However, Nancy was in front of the house after Cici was murdered. Mickey was likely the one who filmed and called Cici. The caller needed to know somethings about Cici like who's her boyfriend and know if her house has an alarm, pointing the caller being Mickey as they are in the same class. Sometime later, while Cici is distracted, Ghostface bursts out of the closet and chases Cici around her house all the way up before Ghostface manages to grab her, throw her through the balcony door, stab her twice in the back, and finally throw her off the balcony to her death. Because likely Mickey was the one, who called Cici, Nancy was probably the Ghostface, who killed her. When Cici throws a vase at Ghostface and later a bicycle, you can hear women's grunt, which would point to Nancy. There is also another interesting point that further proves that Nancy was Cici's killer. When Sidney is attacked by Ghostface (Nancy) in the Greek house, the knife that goes through the door almost stabbing Derek, also has blood on it, meaning that Cici’s killer and Sidney’s attacker are the same person.

Unlike the original Scream, however, the murders of Phil and Cici are not as confirmed and explained as the murders of Casey and Tatum, so the assumptions from Scream 2 (about Nancy killing Phil and Cici) should still be taken with a grain of salt.

Scream 3 (2000)[]

In Scream 3, we have one killer, Roman Bridger. Despite this, many fans believe he had an accomplice who was Angelina Tyler (as it was in the original script). For several reasons, it could indeed be confirmed, but for even more reasons, we would rule it out. But without further ado, what keeps proving to us that Roman was a solo Ghostface is that Angelina was only the Ghostface in the original script, and Scream VI proves to us that Roman was the only solo killer, as confirmed by Kirby Reed.

Scream 4 (2011)[]

If you gather all possible fan arguments, you could say that the only murders that don't require much discussion are the murders of Marnie, Olivia and Charlie (all killed by Charlie). Thus, it's time to discuss the rest of the murders: Jenny, Rebecca, Hoss & Perkins and Kate.

  • There is an opinion from many fans that Charlie did all the killings while Jill only killed Trevor and Charlie (Billy and Stu) to be true to the original like her cousin, Sidney Prescott. Jill seduced Charlie and forced him to do every murder and dirty work, and later frame Trevor as the killer (the new Billy) and her accomplice Charlie (as the new Stu). Nevertheless, one fact must be stated. A Ghostface who has never killed anyone in his costume is not a Ghostface killer. If Jill really made Charlie the killer of everyone and didn't kill anyone in a Ghostface costume herself, we can't call her the Ghostface killer. It should also be noted, that how killer's M.O. comes into play again, which is very important and crucial in the series (with the exception of Scream 5). Jill usually only stabbed her victims once, while Charlie was considered a very brutal killer who stabbed his victims multiple times.
    • Jenny is the kill, where most fans are by far the most convinced that Charlie is her killer. However, there are arguments that minimally tell us that Jill is Jenny's killer. What makes a lot of fans say it's Charlie is Jenny's killer is that Charlie said that "he had great footage of her death". However, that didn't necessarily mean he actually killed her. While it's logical that Charlie killed Marnie, Olivia and Robbie, that's not necessarily the case with Jenny. Two killers were in the opening (because it's hard to imagine Charlie first killing Marnie, then yanking her corpse, then calling Jenny, and then throwing her corpse out of the window himself at the perfect time. It must have been a two-man job). You can hear Jill's sound when she stabbed the door in an attempt to stab Jenny. So, from all of this, you could conclude that Jill would actually be Jenny's killer, while Charlie followed them to the garage and filmed the murder there.
    • When it comes to Rebecca, we have the same situation again, most of the fans say that Charlie is the Ghostface who kills Rebecca. This one is actually pretty debatable, because it could be Jill who kills Rebecca, as Charlie was with Robbie at the time and also Ghostface used Jill's M.O., and also could be Charlie as well, because Jill was at the hospital and would be hard for her to sneak out.
    • And for last debatable murders: Hoss, Perkins and Kate, again there is the belief that Charlie is the Ghostface, who kills all of them. This time, however, it's easier for us to say that it was Jill who killed the cops and her own mother. With the Hoss and Perkins' murders, it's a bit complicated, but Charlie is Hoss' killer while Jill is Perkins' killer. It's Jill who attacks them first because Ghostface once again used Jill's M.O., and on top of that, Charlie didn't mention that he had footage of Hoss and Perkins being stabbed. Then it's true that Charlie drove the car two blocks away and then stabbed the corpses of Hoss and Perkins several more times just to make sure that they're dead. However, Perkins was pretty much dead already, because it's doubtful he survived that stab in the forehead from Jill, unlike Hoss, who was only stabbed once in the back. And when it comes to Kate, both killers are present while she and Sidney are attacked (one of the Ghostfaces scared Kate and Sidney at the back door, and the second Ghostface attacked them at the front door, where Kate was killed). Charlie states during the climax of the film that he scared Sidney and Kate from the backdoor of the house, and Kate was stabbed at the front of the house, meaning that Jill is responsible of Kate's death, her own mother. Jill states to Sidney, that "it's a shame my mother had to die", which doesn't exactly tell us that Jill is her killer, but most point to the fact that she is.

Scream (2022)[]

In Scream (2022), again as in Scream (1996) and Scream 2, there are two kills to be discussed in particular. Amber has 3 confirmed kills: Sheriff Judy, Dewey and Liv, while Richie has one confirmed kill: Wes. Thus, it's time to discuss the murders of Vince and Deputy Clay, which, contrary to appearances, are quite easy to discuss.

Before we start: Let's debunk the speculation, that Amber WAS NOT Dewey's killer. Yes, at one point when Ghostface murders Dewey, he (she) appears to be taller than him (Dewey is 5 ft 10 and Amber is 5 ft 3), but that's just a simple movie mistake. Many fans believe that Stu Macher (believed alive) is Dewey's killer. But if it was him, he'd have to be the Ghostface who kills Clay, attacks Richie and Tara, and calls Sam, and let's say this: that just doesn't make sense.

  • Vince is the first victim in the fifth Scream film. He was killed outside the bar, after being kicked off the bar, along with the friend group, including Amber. Many fans claim that Richie was the Ghostface who killed Vince, because Ghostface used Richie's M.O.: a clean, quick kill to the neck (which is theoretically true) and the fact that Amber was supposedly with the rest of the group the whole time. However, we explain why Vince's killer is Amber, not Richie. Amber was already near the bar with the rest of her group and she could easily eluded her friends, while Richie was at the hospital with Sam and Tara. Richie would rather not leave the hospital and then return there only to kill Vince, because Sam would have noticed him not being present and be suspicious over him. Admittedly, this murder is indeed difficult to explain, but minimal evidence tells us that Vince's killer is Amber. Of course there are theories about Stu being alive and killing his nephew, but... you know...
  • As for Clay, Ghostface that killed him off-screen, was again Amber and not Richie. Amber was just wearing a costume while Richie wasn't, and for the whole hospital attack, he was playing the victim. So Amber in this case is more logical.

Scream VI (2023)[]

In Scream VI, we will have as many as 3 murders to discuss, but each of the 3 victims died in the same scene (Bodega scene), which makes the discuss easier. Wayne has 3 confirmed kills: Greg, Jason, and Sam's therapist, Dr. Stone. Ethan has 2 confirmed kills: Paul and Anika, and Quinn has one: Brooks. Thus, it remains for us to discuss the Bodega attack scene in detail.

Before we start (again): First, we won't discuss Mrs. Kirsch's murder because it's not canon. And second, we immediately disprove the theory that Quinn WAS NOT Ghostface who killed Brooks and attacked Gale. Yes, it's true that Ghostface who killed Brooks (who was a tall, well-built man) must have used great strength, which Quinn allegedly didn't have. However, as we can see, Brooks is caught off guard and probably stabbed very quickly, which makes Quinn overpowering Brooks not that difficult. Also, Quinn admitted to Sam and Tara that she was the Ghostface attacking Gale (and thus Brooks' killer). So not Danny Brackett, not Stu Macher (some fan theories), Quinn is Brooks' killer.

  • The only scene that requires more explanation is the scene in the Bodega. The vast majority of fans are sure that Wayne is the killer here, due to the fact that Ethan and Quinn were in the apartment with the rest of the group, and how Ghostface handled the shotgun. However, we disprove this: Wayne was at the crime scene in Jason and Greg's apartment. He first calls Sam (at 9:57-9:58 p.m.) from there and lures her to come down the station, and after Sam and Tara escaped from the Bodega, Wayne was already present at the police station. For Wayne, it would be problematic to move from place to place so quickly, as well as to hide the costume. Later in the movie, when Kirby and Wayne are tracking the timeline of Ghostface, on the Ghostface's timeline board it is shown that the Bodega attack occured on 10:03 p.m., meaning that: Wayne would have to leave Jason and Greg's apartment in less than 5 minutes (in addition, put on the costume somewhere unnoticed) and later after the attack get faster to the police station before Sam and Tara, and in addition hide the costume somewhere. That just leaves us to Ethan and Quinn among the remaining possible killers in this scene. Of Wayne's children, Ethan would be the Ghostface attacking the Bodega. When Ghostface is pushed onto the bikes by Sam and Tara, he grunts in a voice similar to Ethan's, and a moment later he says "sh*t!", which also sounds like Ethan. What remains unclear, is how Ethan sneaked out from the apartment and how to learned to use a shotgun. However, it can be inferred that Wayne taught him using a shotgun, and Quinn somehow covered up Ethan from the rest of the group. However, there is also a possibility that Quinn was the Ghostface at Bodega. Assuming the Friend Group left the apartment before Sam and Tara, Quinn would most likely be the Ghostface at Bodega then.
    • What still needs to be discussed is that the directors "confirmed" that Wayne was the Ghostface at the Bodega, and they also "confirmed" about Scream 5, that Amber did most of the killings (and according to them, even all of them, said by Samantha). However, here we need to clarify and discuss one thing: The reason a particular killer killed a particular victim because the directors "confirmed so", it is NOT the reason. These are simply their opinions and thoughts, not confirmed information.
