Coin Farming (2024)

Coin farming is a strategy used by many players in order to obtain more Coins. Coins are used for various useful things throughout the game, like for Castle upgrades, buying new Islands, baking Treats, and buying Decorations. After a player has bought all upgrades and market items that cost coins, having a high coin production can still be useful for baking Treats or XP Farming.

It is recommended not to spend real life money (or Diamonds) to get more Coins, as Diamonds will quickly become much more important (and limited).

Beginning Methods[]

The best way to get Coins in the early game is to invest in many Quad-Element Monsters, and to put other Monsters in Hotels if you need more room. Quads are a great Monster to farm, since they are easy to obtain, but have a high Coin generation. Although harder to obtain, Ethereal Monsters can make even more Coins than Quads. You’ll also want to keep an eye on limited-time Monster promotions, as you’ll want to phase out Common Monsters for Rare and Epic Monsters. It’s also important to note that based on your Coin collection schedule, some Monsters may be more or less effective. For example, when collecting once per day, Reebro generates more coins than Riff, but when collecting twice per day, Riff generates more.

Note that on Fire and Magical Islands, Quad Element Monsters are the best Coin producers, so no further advanced strategy is necessary besides replacing Common Monsters with Rare or Epic ones.

Selling Monsters[]

Coins can also be obtained fairly easily early-game by breeding and selling Monsters. Natural Quads can be sold for Coin Farming (1) 112,500 each, and Shugafam on Shugabush Island each sell for Coin Farming (2) 525,000 (Except Shugabush, which is sold for Coin Farming (3) 150,000). Buying Bonus Breeding Structures and Bonus Nurseries also allows you to make double the amount of Coins.

Additionally, Monsters with Costumes that can be obtained for free via Breeding, increase a Monster's selling price. For example, a Noggin bred with its "Slideshow Intern" costume has its selling price increased from Coin Farming (4) 255 to Coin Farming (5) 18,975, and multiple Noggins can be bred within the span of a minute, meaning players can obtain a relatively large amount of Coins quickly. This method works best with Noggin as it has the lowest incubation time of any Monster.

Single Element Ethereal monsters sell for Coin Farming (6)750,000 coins. However, obtaining them on Natural Islands is difficult, and selling them on Ethereal Island will yield Shards instead. However, it's possible to send monsters from Ethereal Island to the Colossingum, where they can then be sold for coins. If a player can successfully get two different Ethereals to Ethereal Island and breed some copies, sending them over to the Colossingum and selling them there is a reliable method. It is not recommended to do this with Double Element Ethereal Monsters as they sell for less coins and take longer to teleport.

Advanced Methods[]

The most efficient Coin producers are the Rare Wubbox and the Werdos. Although Rare Wubbox is actually more efficient, due to its large size, after having at least 12 Rare Wubboxes, it is recommended to fill in the rest of your Island with Werdos. For players who like to make Island designs that are functional and pretty, it may be better to limit your Rare Wubboxes even further to allow more space for other Monsters or Decorations.

These Monsters are so efficient due to their obscenely high Coin production, combined with only taking up one bed each. For reference, Epic Ghazt produces Coin Farming (7) 142,272 (per bed) per day versus Rare Wubbox’s Coin Farming (8) 648,000 or Tawkerr and Parlsona’s Coin Farming (9) 564,480. (Monsters at level 15.)

Wublin Farming[]

While most often used for Shards or Diamond Farming, Wublins are also a good source of Coins. Due to Wublin Island not having a Castle, coin production is only limited by the Island’s physical space. Any 2x2 Wublin is approximately an equally efficient source of coins, although Wublins that produce more Diamonds must produce slightly (a few percent) fewer Coins to make up for it.

Coins are produced around 31-32% of the time, depending on Diamond production rates. With the maximum number of 113 Wublins, and collecting every 12 hours, Wublin Island will generate about 28.7 million Coin Farming (10) per week (high Diamond production Wublins) to 29.6 million Coin Farming (11) per week (low Diamond production Wublins) on average.

Dipster Farming[]

Dipsters are great for farming Coins, as they only take up a 1x1 space, and are the only Monsters to not take up any beds. Although Keys can be difficult to come by, with a combination of farming techniques and buying Dipsters during sales that discount them to one key, it can be easy to amass a large amount in no time.

Other Tips[]

Make your Monsters happier. Monsters at 100% happiness will make twice the amount of Coins per minute than those at 0%.

Leveling up your Monsters makes them earn Coins faster and increases the maximum number of Coins they can hold, but each level requires a disproportionately higher amount of Treats, which cost 10 times as many Coins to produce in the Bakery in the first place.

Instead of leveling up 1 Monster very high, level up 2 Monsters or more to a lower level.

Example:

Cost/benefit for numbers of Entbrats
EntbratsLevelCoins/minuteTreats requiredBreak-even after
12033210,705,860~224 days
29344
(2 x 172)

~14 hours,
50 minutes
45384
(4 x 96)
3,600
(4 x 900)
~1 hour,

Having 4 Entbrats at a lower level costs significantly less and end up producing more Coins/minute than a single Entbrat at the highest level.

Methods to Avoid[]

Monster rarity does not always correlate with good Coin production. Monsters such as Mythical Monsters, and Epic Wubbox are hard to obtain but have relatively poor Coin production, and so should not be pursued for farming. Also note that although Wubbox has a good Coin rate. However, due to its high cost, it can take months to years before being able to gain the profits needed to buy and power up one.

Notes[]

  • It was previously possible to buy Wubbox and decorations at a heavy discount during sales, and then sell them back after the sale for 75% of the regular price. This was patched out in July 2021.
  • Up to 22 Quad Element Monsters can be placed on an Island without a Crystalline Castle. If the Island has a fully upgraded Crystalline Castle, the cap raises to 45 Quad Element Monsters.
