Farosh's Scales can be collected from the Dragon, Farosh,^[1] who typically flies around Lake Hylia, Lake Floria, and the Gerudo Highlands. Link must shoot anywhere along the main body of Farosh to receive a Scale, except the horns, teeth, or claws. It will subsequently fall somewhere on the land in the form of a light.

Cooking with Farosh's Scales will always result in Dubious Food. However, when critters are used in the Cooking Pot, the result will be an Elixir. At the Kochi Dye Shop, Farosh's Scales can be used as an ingredient to create Light Yellow Dye.

During "The Serpent's Jaws" Shrine Quest, Link will come upon the Spring of Courage. When he prays to the Goddess Statue there, The Goddess Hylia will instruct him to offer one of Farosh's Scales to the Spring.^[2] Doing this will open the way to Shae Katha Shrine.^[3]
