A monster's level increases every four meals it is fed, up to a maximum of twenty levels (except for a few special cases). When a monster's level increases, so do the number of coins it earns per minute, the maximum amount of coins it can hold, and the amount of food necessary for each of its meals. It also gets bigger, within its space(s) on the island. The bar on the top right corner of the screen shows you how much food you own. Food can be made using a Bakery.

The amount of food needed to get a monster to its next level doubles with every level until level 15, after which it increases by 50% (multiplicatively) per level. Another way of considering it is that until level 15, the amount of food needed to get a monster from level N to level N + 1 is slightly more than all of the food it has been given so far, in getting it from level 1 to level N.

Tribal Island[]

Feeding on Tribal Island works differently from the other Islands. Monsters can be fed with Treats, Coins, or Shards. There is also no longer a maximum level count. Every Monster resets to level 1 at the end of the week.

Effect on Currency Production in Feeding Monsters[]

Normal Monsters[]

The coin/shard capacity and production rates increase consistently from monster to monster, although most newer released monsters have some rounding errors in their currency production rates.

Dipsters on Shard-Producing Islands[]

The rate at which the currency increases per level for Dipsters on Shard-producing Islands deviates from all other monsters' rates in leveling up.

Triple and Quad Element Ethereals[]

Triple and quad element Ethereals on Ethereal Workshop have a special pattern at which their shard production increases: First, depending on their element quantities, increases by that amount per level (first level is included).

Second, their pre-Version 4.2.1 instabilities are added on to their initial amounts.

Amber Island Monsters[]

Monsters on Amber Island generate relics instead of coins, which means that the rates and maximum incomes for these monsters are altered so that relics are not too easy to obtain.

Note that these numbers here are approximations and there may be a slightly different rate than the stats show.

*Further testing has shown that the average exponential increase seems to be +3.5% (level 1 to level 2 increases exponentially twice). The data above were gathered from taking the averages of provided data from various Fire Monsters.

Visual Changes[]

The visual size of a Monster also changes as you level it up; specifically at Levels 4 (1.21x bigger), 10 (1.43x bigger), and 15 (1.56x bigger). This does not affect the space a Monster takes up on the Island. Different sizes of Monsters are sometimes used to 'decorate' using Monsters on an Island.

This size change is separate from that of the Biggify feature.

At level 20, Monsters don't change size but do gain a sparkling star effect. This effect is only cosmetic and signifies that it has reached its maximum level.

Notes[]

• A Rare Monster or Epic Monster has the same feeding costs as its regular version.
  • The only exception to this rule so far is the Epic Wubbox and Epic Seasonals. However, Epic Schmoochle and previously Epic Hoola have the same feeding requirements as Common Seasonals.
• The feeding icon is a cupcake between a fork and knife. The icon was updated in 2.0.0 to match the new graphics in 2.0.0.
