When we were kids, I remember tailgating in front of my grandparents' house. Everyone on the block would bring out their family version of macaroni salad, get corn on the cob or elotes from the street vendor, and trade baskets of avocados and fresh fruit. The grills would be set up with the guys grilling in the front yard, listening to the game on the radio or bringing the food inside to watch the game on the big screen. My family was more of a baseball family but whatever the game, a hot dog or chili dog was the quintessential sportsgamefood.
