The RolePreferred QualificationsThe SSN(X) Fluid Systems Team is looking for an Engineering Technician 4 to join their team in order to support the development of the next generation fast attack submarine. This is an opportunity to get in at the beginning of a new design and have influence over what will become the Navy’s premier attack submarine platform. Preferred qualifications are as follows:

• Strong background in Naval Fluid Systems, has experience with A-gang type systems on modern Submarines (688/VCS/Seawolf/Trident).
• Experience/Knowledge in construction deliverables or processes.
• Working knowledge in Process development /process mapping.
• Average to above average skills with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Power point.
• The systems for example are, but not limited to; Air Systems, Sea Water, Fresh Water, Diesels, Gravity Drain, Hydraulics, etc…

Must HaveAssociate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Nice to HaveProvides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
