One of the Duties in the Lovely Monsters Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley may trip up players due to its somewhat unclear wording. This task asks players to "Dig for something blue," but actually refers to mining, rather than digging. This guide will help you complete this task and earn your Scream Canister Token rewards!
How To Dig For Something Blue
When you see "Dig for something blue," you may initially think that you need to use your Royal Shovel to dig up something buried in the ground. However, it actually refers to mining for blue gems using your Royal Pickaxe.

There are four kinds of blue gem that count towards this task (and their Shiny variations also count.) They are:
- Aquamarine - found when mining Rock Spots on Dazzle Beach or in the Forest of Valor
- Sapphire - found when mining Rock Spots in the Vitalys Mines
- Vitalys Crystals - found when mining Rock Spots in the Vitalys Mines
- Blue Zircon - found when mining Rock Spots in The Lagoon area of the Wild Tangle (A Rift in Time expansion only)
To complete the task and earn 10 Scream Canister Tokens, you need to mine 20 blue gems. The easiest way to do this is to visit the Vitalys Mines, as both Sapphires and Vitalys Crystals spawn there, and Vitalys Crystals tend to have a higher spawn rate than other gems. One or two trips through the Mines should be enough to complete this Duty and claim your Tokens!
