What day does Penn State start fall 2024? ›

Fall Break is November 25-29 with no classes.

PSU operates on a quarter system. If you transfer credit from a semester system, we will multiply the credit amount by 1.5.

Fall's start time on Sunday, Sept. 22, will depend on where you live: I​f you are in the Eastern time zone, then fall officially begins at 8:43 a.m., local time. The start of fall will be at 7:43 a.m. in the Central time zone, 6:43 a.m. in the Mountain time zone and 5:43 a.m. in the Pacific time zone. 2​.

Penn State admissions is selective with an acceptance rate of 55%. Students that get into Penn State have an average SAT score between 1210-1390 or an average ACT score of 26-31. The regular admissions application deadline for Penn State is rolling.

Penn's winter break will be eight days longer for the 2023-24 academic year, with classes resuming on Jan. 18. Winter break next school year will last 27 days, according to the University academic calendar. This is more than a week longer than winter break for the 2022-23 year, which lasted 19 days and ended on Jan.

The Late Drop period for a course begins with the first calendar day after the Course Drop period, and ends on the day when 80% of the duration of the course is attained. During this period, you can only drop courses, but you are limited as to how many courses you can drop.

Portland State University (PSU) accepts 90.71% transfer applicants, which is competitive. To have a shot at transferring into Portland State University (PSU), you should have a current GPA of at least 3.46 - ideally you're GPA will be around 3.6. In addition, you will need to submit standardized test scores.

In the quarter system, the academic calendar is broken down into three ten-week terms as opposed to the traditional two 15-week semesters. The academic year starts in September and ends in June. Students generally take four classes per quarter through all four years of college, with breaks at the end of every quarter.

Penn will not require applicants to submit the SAT or ACT for the 2024-25 application cycle. This applies to all first-year, domestic, international, homeschooled, transfer, and QuestBridge applicants. Applicants who do not submit SAT or ACT scores will not be at a disadvantage in the admissions process.
