  • Hawaiian Rolls: These soft and buttery rolls come attached in a bag and are the perfect size for any slider recipe!
  • Roast Beef: Your favorite deli roast beef works just fine here.
  • BBQ Sauce: I like to use Arby's original sauce, but feel free to substitute your favorite barbecue sauce or make my homemade bbq sauce.
  • Cheddar Cheese Sauce: This ensures the sandwiches have a gooey and melty cheese filling.
  • Butter
  • Seasonings: I like to top the rolls with onion powder, garlic powder, and a bit of everything bagel seasoning.

Recipe Tips

  • Can't find cheese sauce? Use slices of cheddar cheese or switch things up with pepper jack, Monterey jack, colby jack, provolone, or Swiss cheese.
  • If you can't find everything but the bagel seasoning, mix together some sesame seeds and poppy seeds. You'll also want to use the onion and garlic powder in the melted butter.
  • You can also make these sandwiches using brioche rolls, potato rolls, or your favorite rolls.
  • Keep leftover sliders in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Store them in an airtight container or wrapped well in plastic wrap or aluminum foil.
  • Reheat the sliders in the oven at 350 degrees until the cheese sauce is nice and melty again.

Recipe FAQ's

What is a slider?

This refers to American sandwiches that are typically small and made with buns or dinner rolls. They're often served as snacks or appetizers, but they can also be made for a fun handheld dinner! The name comes from the US Navy in the 1940s, when mini burgers were a popular meal. They were sometimes so greasy the would "slide" right out of their hands!

What should I serve with sliders?

These beef and cheddar sliders are fantastic to serve with french fries, curly fries, or onion rings, a bowl of coleslaw or your favorite green salad, a macaroni salad or pasta salad, or a classic potato salad. Pair them with more sauce for dipping too!

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Add the sliced roast beef on top of the rolls.

  • Spread the Ardy's sauce evenly over the meat.

  • Place dollops of cheddar cheese sauce on each individual slider and spread. Put the bun lids back on top.

  • Bake on the middle rack for 12-14 minutes.

  • Serve with extra Arby's or BBQ sauce.

Notes

  • You can also use regular slices of cheddar cheese instead of the cheese sauce, or substitute a different variety of cheese.
  • Hawaiian rolls are my favorite but brioche or potato buns also work well.
  • If you can't find everything bagel seasoning, combine some poppy seeds with sesame seeds. You could also add some flaky salt, black pepper, dried onion, and dried garlic.
