Is Aldi closed on the May bank holiday? ›

Aldi has confirmed its regular opening hours will remain in place on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. But on the bank holiday Monday, which is on May 6, shops will close slightly earlier than normal. Instead of closing at 10pm, Aldi has confirmed that the majority of shops will shut at 8pm.

Throughout the weekend, all Aldi stores across Ireland will maintain their usual opening hours. However, on Monday, they will be open from 9am to 9pm. Do note that these timings might vary slightly for smaller outlets, so it's always a good idea to check your local store locator here.

Many of London's shops, attractions and businesses stay open throughout the public holidays. Make sure to check opening times before visiting on these days, as some places have reduced hours while others might not open at all. Services on public transport might also be reduced.

This year the bank holiday falls on the 6th of May 2024.

It means stores across the country will open at 9.30am, rather than the usual 10am in line with Sunday trading rules. This time is limited only to browsing, meaning customers will have to wait until 10am before being able to purchase any items from the shops.

On the bank holiday itself, larger Morrisons stores will be open between 7am and 8am and close at 8pm. Although some stores may open later until 10pm. Morrisons petrol stations will also open half an hour earlier and close half an hour later on the bank holiday Monday.
