Quick, easy, delicious tuna balls!These kid-friendly tuna balls are the best thing you can make with canned tuna.These are perfect for baby-led weaning and for fussy eaters, but I’m 100% sure the whole family will enjoy them too.

Ingredients:

(make 14 small balls)

  • 1 large tin of tuna in spring water (drained weight 112g)

  • 125g Ricotta cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 60g bread crumbs, plus extra for coating

  • Small handful of parsley, chopped (optional)

  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Method:

  1. Flake the drained tuna into a bowl, add the drained ricotta and mix well.

  2. Then add the parsley, breadcrumbs, egg and salt (if used) and mix together with a fork until completely combined.

  3. Roll the mix into 14 walnut-size balls and coat them with a little of breadcrumbs.

  4. Heat a little olive oil in a pan and fry the balls in batches over a medium heat until golden and crisp.

  5. Remove from the pan and put them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

  6. OR You can cook them in the oven for a light dinner at 200°C for about 15-20 minutes, but they will be not so good-looking as the fried ones.

  7. Enjoy!
